2010年10月1日，广东东莞市报告万江新村社区发现基孔肯雅热疑似病例。10月2日，省疾病预防控制中心在东莞市送检的15例发热病例血标本中检测到10例基孔肯雅热病毒核酸阳性。根据病例的临床特征、流行病学调查及实验室检测结果，认定为一起基孔肯雅热社区聚集性疫情。截至10月1日，共发现91例疑似病例，均为轻症，绝大多数已经*，无住院、重症和死亡病例。

专家提示，基孔肯雅热是由伊蚊（埃及伊蚊、白纹伊蚊）叮咬传播的病毒性疾病，白纹伊蚊是引起近期印度洋岛屿基孔肯雅流行的主要媒介，该蚊种在我国分布也较为广泛。基孔肯雅热可防可控，一般症状轻，主要有发热、关节痛、躯干部皮疹等，出现类似症状应及时就诊。防蚊灭蚊是防控基孔肯雅热的关键措施，要全面清除积水等蚊虫孳生地，做好个人防止蚊虫叮咬措施。
